Meet Caroline Georgia

The Inspiration Behind Wings of Courage

Caroline Georgia

Born on EB Awareness Day, October 26, 2023, Caroline Georgia came into the world with a quiet strength and a purpose far greater than anyone could have imagined. Within 48 hours of her birth, her tiny fingers were raw, her cry was faint, and her mother’s instincts knew something wasn’t right. A diagnosis of severe junctional Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) soon followed — a rare, painful, and life-limiting genetic skin disorder.

In those early days, Caroline’s journey became one of both unimaginable challenge and profound transformation. Through trial and error, setbacks and small victories, her mother, Aisha, chose to embrace the path ahead with courage and unwavering love. Together, they faced the unknown. Together, they grew.

Caroline was more than a baby with a rare disease — she was a force. Spirited, wise, beautiful, and endlessly brave, she brought joy to her family, found delight in morning stories, loved to be tickled, and watched her siblings with quiet wonder. With every blister dressed, every midnight vigil kept, Caroline taught those around her what it meant to be present, to be vulnerable, and to love without fear.

Each month on the 26th, her family celebrated her life with cake, honoring every milestone as a gift. Her mother found strength in advocacy, assembling a care team that spanned continents, all rallying for Caroline — their butterfly girl.

Though Caroline’s time earthside lasted only nine months, the legacy she leaves behind is immeasurable. She saved her mother, revealed depths of love never before known, and created a bond so powerful it transcends time.

As her mother Aisha so beautifully said:

“Caroline Georgia completes me. When I look into her eyes, time freezes, and it’s like I know exactly what I need to do. We have this understanding. Caroline Georgia is wise, and she saved me.”

In honor of her remarkable life, we take to the skies through “Wings of Courage,” soaring for Caroline and every child like her — because her story deserves to be known, her spirit celebrated, and her impact carried far and wide.
